Omar Saiid (born in Kabul, Afghanistan) fled his country at the age of fifteen, because of the never-ending war and took refuge in the Netherlands. He finished his design education in 2006 and started working at Studio Anthon Beeke. In the same year he initiated In 2010 he founded Saiid & Smale with Janneke Smale. The studio stands for clear, functional and intelligent design with continuous attention for detail and material. They work for a diverse range of cultural, institutional and commercial clients (national and international). In 2010 they initiated, designed and published ‘Dutch Posters 1997-2017’ the last book of Anthon Beeke. A selection of the posters from this book were presented during the Dutch Design Week 2018 in the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven.
